As much as you HATE to expose your kids to the negative side of life, it is unfortunately out there waiting for them. SO, when Michele's office decided that they were going to generate a team for the National Heart Walk, we thought THIS would be a GREAT place for charlie to see what everything was all about.

His first walk, HE had just started walking, so we took it kind of slow and he wasnt even the youngest one there, but I am VERY proud to say that charlie finished his walk with his head held high AND
about 3 seconds ahead of his MOM!

Now being married to a cardiac nurse, this is something that I have supported
(monetarily) for YEARS!
But things being what they are, and gas being $3 a gallon the money isnt what it used to be.
A very good friend of ours (Bubba) always said that the best part about being wealthy
is that when he CANT be somewhere to help,
his money CAN BE! So this years theme for me when I got to speak about
the walk was, "If you cant walk, then BE A BUBBA!"
So this year the WHOLE Hess clan walked. Charlie may not have been the smallest
or the youngest, but he
was the ONLY child to tell everyone WHY he chose to walk this year!

Charlie was up and ready before ANY of us, 6am and HE's ready to walk for GRAMPA!
