Thats right, in the 80's even Fender got into
the super pointy super SHARP Super Strats!
But rather than "besmirch " their OWN image, they created a WHOLE new
line called the "Fender Heartfield Talon Series" I-IV

I was on the hun for an Ibanez RG series
super strat when I came upon THESE. So I IMMEDIATELY bid on and won TWO
of them!
And, because God loves me, I WON both of them. GREAT NOW what do I tell
my wife?
Well the best part about THAT was that with all my finagling and late
night auction sniping I got BOTH, SHIPPED to my door for under $275! I
then promptly decided which one I liked best, cleaned the other one up
and but it back up for sale at, you guessed it $275!
But then a week later I started missing the HSS thing (this is the HSH
I kept) so I went back on the prowel. UNFORTUNATELY everyone on the net
saw that I dold MINE for $300 (with shipping) so THEY all wanted the
same! It's not the first or the last time, I've priced myself out of a
market!
It turns OUT that in my
quest to find an Ibanez RG series guitar I had done almost
EXACTLY that! Apparently in the 80's Fender contracted with the Ibanez
Factory in Japan to create their OWN series of "super Strat" guitars
based on the RG specs but built to Fenders design. Thus we have the
TALON series. The HEARTFIELD portion of the name comes from a pre
existing brand that Fender purchased and never really DID anything
with. There are NON Fender Heartfields out there and in fact the RR and
several other models command price tags in eccess of $500, so
if your interested in a more original body style, a chunkier neck OR
built in EFX you might kep your eyes peeled.

Truly the Fender Talons are some of the
FINEST guitars ever to carry the Fender name.
The construction is top notch. The TONAL
variety is OUTSTANDING, the necks feel AWESOME, the Trems are ROCK
Solid Floyd Roses.
But the Pickups are TRULY what set them
apart, most of them are VERY hot Dimarzios (not copies or clones or
'designed by), but they provide GREAT clarity through and through as
well as have a HUGE grown on tap when needed!
