The more time that passes, the less time it seems, until we try and
think BACK that far, in which case, well you know!
I had been working in commercial banking for about 3 years, and had been divorced
and "home" for four. I had been traveling a great deal as well as working on getting a
business of my own off the ground when my Great Aunt asked if I would like to go
on a vacation.......................................in ISRAEL!
Now I'm a pretty open minded guy, but I had NEVER considered "vacationing" in
the middle east. However being a curious sort and ALWAYS being up for a free
vacation I JUMPED at the chance.
While there, I learned a great deal, for example no matter HOW much it LOOKS
like a restaurant your familar with, Mcdavids aint the same!

Kosher fast food aside I learned a really neat fact about Israeli Tradition. Our guide
explained that the "Wester Wall" also known as the "Wailing Wall" was the last
known structure still standing that remained from King David (and therby Solomons)
Temple. So since it was the seat of God's Holy seat tradition holds that if you write
your hearts dearest prayer on a piece of paper and fervently pray while inserting the
paper IN the wall, then God will answer your prayer!

Now I think we are ALL aware that Gods answer may be NO, but hey to get an
answer I was willing to give it a shot. So on my piece of paper I wrote :God send
me the perfect woman for me", I placed it in the wall and prayed for about 15
minutes.
If you've ever seen the wall on TV you KNOW there are some REALLY professional
prayers there, and although I felt like an amateur I figured whats the harm?
NOT being one to let grass grow I was already dating someone when I left and had
remained in constant telephone contact EVERY night that I was gone (VERY
expensive I might add), but even then I kind of KNEW she wasnt REALLY the one for
me.
Well aparently God agreed, would you know that even though I spoke to her 3 hours
before I left for Paris, once I landed I NEVER heard from her again? EVER, not
ONCE! No phone calls returned, no email nada! - Sigh, so much for transatlantic
love!
